Aino Tenkanen is a composer and sound artist based in Helsinki, Finland. She is currently studying composition at the Sibelius Academy. Her works have been performed by various ensembles and orchestras, including the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, UMO Jazz Orchestra, and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Aino’s music often explores the relationship between sound and space, using a variety of techniques to create immersive sonic environments.
In addition to her work as a composer, Aino is also an active performer and collaborator, working with artists from a range of disciplines. She is passionate about creating new music that challenges and inspires audiences, and is committed to promoting the work of underrepresented voices in the contemporary music scene.
Aino is a member of the Finnish Composers’ Association and the International Society for Contemporary Music. She has received numerous awards and grants for her work, including the Young Composer’s Award from the Finnish Music Foundation.
Aino is also a dedicated educator, teaching composition and music theory at various institutions in Finland. She is committed to fostering the next generation of composers and musicians, and is passionate about sharing her love of music with others.
